DescriptionThe Conceptualization Levels family categorizes family of concepts according to level of conceptual abstraction. Each conceptualization family represents a generalized model of concepts derived from a specific reality. It expresses the common characteristics of these concepts to provide a simplified representation with the broader aim of unifying their manipulation. Each level is applicable to various types of resources being modeled, such as software, hardware, or organizational resources, and ranges from the most concrete dimensions (sometimes referred to as physical levels) to more abstract dimensions (sometimes called logical levels). The most abstract level is the conceptual level, where the notion of a resource is disregarded. For instance, the "vision" function exists at the conceptual level, while the eye is situated at the resource level. There can be logical models of the eye and multiple physical models of eyes. |
